What is chemistry?

Chemistry is defined as natural science that studies the composition, structure, and properties of matter, as well as the changes it undergoes and the energy accompanying the process. the following figure illustrates what is being studied chemistry.

The universe and its content, which comprise of water, land, air, and living organism, are composed of matter
Matter and its changes are all around us, even when you are going to school and the fact that our body is composed of matters. everything about matter and its changes are studied in chemistry. Chemistry plays a big role in many aspects of our lives. this is what makes studying chemistry is important. Chemistry brings meaning to matter!

The compositions  of metal (iron, Fe) and wood (cellulose: carbon, C), and hydrogen (H), are very different from one another.

The structures of diamonds and graphite are different although both are composed of carbon (C)

Change from one matter into another matter. When burned, wood turns to ash. The burning process is followed by change of energy in which the energy releases takes the form of heat.
